Grant Application Guidelines and Directions

Thank you for your interest in applying for a Grant from the Santa Cruz Sailing Foundation
(SCSF). Our SCSF Grants are awarded based on multiple factors. Please review these Guidelines
and Directions before applying. The Grant Application may be completed with a hard copy or
electronically on the SCSF website. If you have any questions regarding the Grant Application

Grant Application Guidelines:

Eligible applicants must be under the age of 21.
The availability of SCSF funds.
The number of Grant Applications being considered.
The specific requirements of the applicant.
Grant Applications may be awarded for:

a. Community Junior Sailing Programs
b. Regatta expenses for individual racing sailors
c. Education expenses (gear & tuition) for
individual sailors
d. Other, i.e., sailing/racing materials, and supplies

The SCSF will process Grant Applications for identified expenses in a timely manner and prioritize awarding reimbursements in the following order:

a. Order of receiving the Grant Application
b. Regatta entry costs
c. Boat charter fees and travel
d. Lodging and coaching expenses
e. Sailing equipment, supplies, and materials

Grant Applications are to be awarded for anticipated expenses or reimbursement costs for events or purchases with appropriate documentation and/or receipts attached.
Grant Funding that is awarded and exceeds the actual requested amount or expenditure must be returned to the SCSF.

The primary goal of the Santa Cruz Sailing Foundation is to enrich the lives of the Santa Cruz County youth community by providing them with opportunities to participate in both recreational and competitive sailing. Our outreach objectives are to include boys and girls from outside of the local sailing community who may be unfamiliar with the sport and otherwise lack the opportunity to learn.
